Getting Started
A community post-overdose response team led by Home of New Vision, in partnership with University of Michigan, Michigan Medicine, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and Huron Valley Ambulance. Peer recovery coaches engage overdose survivors within 72 hours of a naloxone reversal and provide support for up to 90 days.
About This Agency
The Recovery Opioid Overdose Team (ROOT), led by Home of New Vision in partnership with the University of Michigan, Michigan Medicine, and local emergency services, is a post-overdose intervention team of peer recovery coaches and case managers that engages overdose survivors within 72 hours of a naloxone reversal, providing up to 90 days of recovery support and treatment referrals in Washtenaw County. Home of New Vision has also supplied no-cost naloxone for public vending machines installed in Ypsilanti and Saline.
