About This Agency
HEPPAC (HIV Education and Prevention Project of Alameda County) provides harm reduction-based services in Alameda and Contra Costa counties for people at increased risk of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other infectious diseases, including HIV/Hep C testing, sterile syringes, street outreach, and naloxone distribution. HEPPAC’s Casa Segura drop-in center in East Oakland offers no-cost food pantry, laundry, and shower services, and its Overdose Prevention Education and Naloxone Distribution (OPEND) program provides naloxone kits after a brief training with unlimited refills.
