About This Agency
The Community Health Care Van (CHCV), started by Yale School of Medicine in 1993, is a mobile and storefront harm reduction and primary care program serving underserved New Haven neighborhoods. CHCV provides no-cost naloxone kits, clean syringes, substance use treatment, and mental health services through drop-in exchange sites, a home-delivery mini-van, and harm reduction vending units dispensing naloxone, sterile needles, and wound care and safer sex supplies for after-hours access.
