Getting Started
Bexar County is home to the only legislatively authorized syringe exchange program in Texas, overseen by UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing. Needle exchange, harm reduction education, medical care, HIV/Hep C testing, recovery coaching. Kits include 10 syringes, condoms, cooker, cotton, alcohol swabs, and a referral card. Outreach at 15+ locations citywide. Also offers transitional recovery housing for women completing inpatient treatment.
